Monday 7th September – WGC Event

Come and see the race twice from the visual advantage of the course. The cyclists will pass by at approx. 11.30am and 2.40pm.

In the interim we propose to hold a ‘Roll-up’ golf competition (L,M & J).

Play on the 6th and 7th holes will have to be suspended for safety reasons when the race passes and spectators are on the course. The 8th will also be closed to allow safe access.

Parking is being publicized to non-members for £5 and catering will be available in the clubhouse for extended hours from a normal Monday.

Schedule :

10.00am Catering opens.

11.00am Road access/departure to/from the club is closed.

Play on holes 6,7 & 8 suspended.

11.30 – 11.50am The race passes down the road by the 6th and 7th holes

12.00 – 2.00pm Golf Competition

Refreshments available in the clubhouse.

2.00pm Road access/departure to/from the club is closed.

Play on holes 6,7 & 8 suspended.

2.40 – 3.00pm The race passes up the road by the 6th and 7th holes.

4.00pm Bar and Catering closes.

N.B. The road access to the club will be opened shortly after each passage of the race.

Tour of Britain – Stage Two will see more than 20 of the world’s top cycling teams, including Olympic and Tour de France winners, power through the Ribble Valley, taking in much of the borough en route to Colne.

The race will be broadcast internationally by 16 television channels across 139 territories, particularly in Europe, Australia and the USA, attracting more than 200 million viewers. This will be an unmissable event – come and be part of it!
