The BOREing FUND

This year, the Club Captains have chosen to support a project that will play a vital role in protecting the future of our golf course.

In the coming years, proposed regulations mean the club would will no longer be permitted to rely on water from the national mains supply to irrigate the course. To safeguard against prepare for this change and protect safeguard the condition of our fairways and greens, the club should must develop an independent water source by installing a borehole and improve or storage and irrigation system that can draw from the natural water around the course and improve our storage and irrigation systems.

This type of infrastructure is a major investment, and with that in mind, the Captains have set a fundraising target of £9,900 to help contribute towards the project. To support this effort, they will be taking part in a number of fundraising challenges throughout the year in support of what we are calling “The BOREing Fund.” While the name may be light-hearted, the goal behind it is incredibly important for the long-term sustainability of our course.

If every member raises £25
we'll reach our target!

Alongside this, we are launching “BORE It Your Way,” a DIY fundraising initiative that invites members to get involved and raise money in their own creative ways. The idea is simple: Your ideas, your family and friends, your way. Rather than simply asking for donations, we are encouraging you to take part by organising your own small fundraising activities with the support of friends, family, and colleagues.

Do it on your own or as part of a team!
You can do anything! You might choose to bake and sell cakes or jam or gin.   Host an event or run a competition a raffle or a sweepstake. Complete a personal challenge or come up with something completely unique. Big or small, every effort helps us move closer to our £9,900 goal and contributes to securing the future water supply for the course.

As an added cause, a portion of the money raised will also go towards supporting Prostate Cancer, helping extend the impact of the fundraising beyond the club.

Join your Captain, play a local course and contribute to the BOREing Fund. Teeing off around 7am, 12 noon and 5pm.
Morgan will play 54 holes a day, and 3 members are invited to join for each, round so we need 9 members a day.

Well it all has value and we will sell it for you

Just bring it to the club and we’ll do the rest.
We’ll photograph it, list it on eBay and Facebook Marketplace, handle the messages, agree the price, and arrange postage or collection.
It couldn’t be easier and all funds go to the BOREing fund

Your Captains are launching a fundraising Blind Auction as part of our 2026 The BOREing FUND

How does it work?
We collect a portfolio of prizes, it could be anything.
A Service, A Gift,  An Asset, Something Fun or Something Useful

Then our members bid for the prize anonymously…the winning bid take home the prize and the cash goes towards our fund raising target.
