Whalley Golf Club Hosts Day 1 of Ladies Observer Competition with Outstanding Results
On Sunday 8th June 2025, Whalley Golf Club proudly hosted Day 1 of the Ladies Observer Competition – the Mabel Stones Trophy. Despite testing weather conditions, the event welcomed 63 competitors from 8 local golf clubs, all showcasing determination and skill on the course.
Whalley Golf Club was exceptionally well represented, with four of our ladies delivering standout performances:

1st Place – Jenny Stewart (38 points)

2nd Place – Shirley Boothby (37 points)

3rd Place – Agnes Flanagan (37 points)

Also qualifying – Janette Dowdy
These four players have successfully qualified for the Observer Final, which will be held in September 2025, once again at our beautiful home course.
We are proud to announce that 4 of the 6 finalists will represent Whalley – a fantastic achievement that reflects the strength and spirit of our Ladies Section.
