This event finally took place on a magnificently sunny day at Cleckheaton Golf Club. The event had to be rearranged due to inclement weather in April. Winners of the team event were Captain elect, George Blenkinship, Joe Tomkinson and Tony Moore with a score of 79 stableford points. Second in the competition was the team of Russell Bond, Lew Lincoln and organiser, Colin Ashworth with 75 points. Both teams paid tribute to the work done by Colin on behalf of the seniors section. The course was in great condition and all enjoyed the Yorkshire food and hospitality. Captain Richard Ferley can be seen presenting prizes to the winners.
Herbie Sloan hosted this long standing competition. Although he expressed disappointment that fewer and fewer past officers of the club were taking part, many past presidents and captains had sent apologies from as far afield as South Africa and one competitor-Mel Earle had made the trip from Salisbury to compete. The event was won by current captain, Richard Ferley. Thanks go to Herbie for the organisation and Julia and her staff for providing a delicious dinner.
